Steven Cox Steven M. Cox is a professor in the department of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration at Western Illinois University. Cox earned a Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign, taught at Knox College for two years afer returning from military service in South Vietnam, and has been at Western Illinois for the past thirty years. He serves as a consultant to numerous police agencies in the U.S. and abroad in the areas of community policing, diversity, juvenile justice, and research techniques.
