Steve TappinHaving started his comics career working for Marvel UK and the newly created UK title Toxic, Stephen Tappin got the opportunity to work on his all-time favourite comic, 2000 AD, where he got to illustrate some of the Galaxy’s Greatest strips, includig, Rogue Trooper, Judge Dredd and Sláine. It was while he worked on Toxic that Stephen’s talent came to Pat Mills’ attention and he became ear-marked as a possible future Sláine artist. After painting Sláine he began to get interested in CG imagery and animation. Teaching himself Lightwave 3D, Stephen applied for a job with a computer game developer, Particle Systems and spent some years working there, spitting his time between pre-production, concept design duties, 3D animation and production work. From here he set up his own animation studio called ‘Ark’ and directed music promos for acts such as Muse and Shaznay.
