He was the owner and operator of Serpents Occult Books (1986 - 2005), specializing in rare antiquarian and hard to find occult texts. He is the author of the popular work Magiian's Workbook: A Modern Grimoire (Weiser Books, 1995), which has been used as a teaching manual for several magickal orders, and also the translator of the first and only English edition of Sepher Rezial Hemelech or the Sefer Raziel (Weiser Books, 2000), a rare, valuable and important medieval qabalistic text, originally of the 11th century.
