Stephen Shunk

STEPHEN A. SHUNK lives in the heart of Oregon's Woodpecker Wonderland(c), where half of North America's woodpecker species breed each year. He has lectured across the United States -- as well as in Mexico and Malaysia -- about the amazing woodpeckr anatomy and the critical role woodpeckers play in forest ecology. Through his tour company, Paradise Birding, Steve also leads international woodpecker conservation tours. When Steve is not watching woodpeckers, he serves as the assistant editor of the Nature Travel Network.
