Stephen Hardy
Professor Stephen Hardy LLB PhD FHEA FRSA MCIArb, Barrister has been a legal academic for over twenty years, specializing in EU, employment, commercial and social welfare law. As a practitioner, he has acted in some landmark employment and ublic law cases, as Counsel for the UK Government and for many UK trades unions. Above all, as a scholar he has written over 300 refereed articles and 25 books in the field of EU social policy and social-economic rights, as well as having been General Editor of Sweet & Maxwell's Encyclopaedia on Employment Law for over a decade. Since 2011, he has been a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber), as well as being a Judicial Mentor. He is also an Editorial Board member of the Judicial College's Tribunals Journal. He is also a UK member of the European Institute of Social Security.
