Stephen Hardy
Stephen Hardy LL.B., Ph.D. is a practising Barrister, specializing in the field of employment/labour law. He is the Diamond Jubilee Professor of Law at the University of Bolton, UK and Visiting Professor of Comparative Law at the University of Zhaqing, China. He is a graduate of both University College London and Staffordshire University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Transfers of Undertakings . He has formerly worked at the EU Commission and the European Parliament. Since 2006, he has been General Editor of Sweet and Maxwell s Encyclopaedia of Employment Law, as well as being the author of numerous books and articles in the fields of labour law, discrimination, European and social welfare law. He was appointed in 2010 to the Regional Treasury Counsel Panel and is on the UK s Equality and Human Rights Commission s Preferred Counsel List. In 2011 he was also appointed a Fee Paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber).
