Stan FreemanStan Freeman is a retired newspaper reporter whose articles have appeared in more than forty newspapers, including the Chicago Sun-Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Times, Houston Chronicle, and St. Louis Post-Dispatch. For much of his career, he was the science and environmental writer for the Springfield Union-News and Sunday Republican of Massachusetts. Born in New York City in 1948, he grew up in Huntington, N.Y. and went on to study engineering at Cornell University and fiction writing in the MFA program at University of Massachusetts. He has also published several short stories in literary magazines and he held a fiction-writing fellowship from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities. Read More Read Less
