SoleilPoet Soleil calls herself an accidental poet, having just reconnected with poetry as a source of strength, hope, courage, and inspiration. The Education Assistant course she is taking up moved her to pen verses that emphasize respect for diversity an highlight the strength and beauty of the gifted child, her simple way of uplifting and affirming the loving mother behind and beside every such child. Some of her poems incorporate fond memories of her own childhood including that of her dog Moon chasing her family's nameless pig around the yard while her loyal cat Bubbles watched. Family is also important to Soleil and a key theme in many of her verses and in the very design of this poetry collection. She says, This is a book that honours the family as it illustrates many bonding activities between children and parents. Soleil lives with her family in British Columbia, Canada. Read More Read Less
