Shawna Meyer EikenberryShawna Meyer Eikenberry is Clinical Professor of Business Law and Ethics at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Prior to joining Kelley, Professor Eikenberry was a lawyer for nearly 17 years, and spent most of that time advising business lients on multiple legal issues with the law firm of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP. During her time practicing law, she focused on construction law, real estate litigation, and general business litigation. Professor Eikenberry also spent time as a lawyer representing what was then the Marion County of Office and Family and Children, handling legal issues and trials involving abused and neglected children. Professor Eikenberry has taught a variety of classes to undergraduate and graduate students. Classes taught include the Legal Environment of Business and Business Ethics for undergraduate students, as well as a class focusing on the freedom of speech in business. She has also taught negotiations, decision-making and leadership, and business law and ethics at the graduate level. Her teaching focus includes ethical issues in modern businesses and the importance of understanding and assessing legal risks in business, and specifically contracts. Professor Eikenberry was a finalist in the Charles M. Hewitt Master Teacher Competition at the 2019 Academy of Legal Studies in Business Annual Conference and has twice received of the Innovative Teaching Award at the Kelley School of Business.
