Sharmiley D
Sharmiley D. was born in Guyana to Caribbean Indian parents in an arranged marriage. She grew up in a culture where beating children was considered normal-where discipline passed as love, and silence spoke loudest. She believed all families were lke this. No one said otherwise.
For much of her life, Sharmiley tried to see the good in others, even at the cost of her own wellbeing. Emotional neglect, punishment, and abandonment felt normal. But they weren't.
Her healing journey led her to yoga, coaching, EFT, breathwork, trauma therapy, and spiritual practices from around the world. She draws inspiration from the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, Dr. Peter Levine, and Franz Ruppert.
Finding Sleep is her debut: a lyrical memoir for anyone who has been hurt and still longs for peace. Through poetry and reflection, she explores how to soften and survive after a childhood shaped by fear.
