Scott MonkScott Monk was born in Macksville, New South Wales in 1974, grew up in Sydney and now lives in Adelaide. A reluctant reader during his teens, he wanted to write his own books to replace the dull ones that bored him to sleep during English classes. Hi first book, Boyz 'R' Us, won the Young Adults category of the Royal Blind Society's Talking Book Awards. In 1999, he won South Australia's Young Journalist of the Year Award for his commitment to youth affairs. He currently works as the Education Editor for The Advertiser newspaper.
