Satish Chandra BagriSatish Chandra Bagri was working as Professor of Tourism Management at HNB Garhwal Central University, Uttarakhand till August 2021 and presently associated with Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Training and Research Dehradun as a Professor. Prof Bgri carries a 41 years of teaching and research experience in tourism and has published more than 60 research papers and 8 books besides his recent publication on ” Global Opportunities and Challenges for Rural and Mountain Tourism, published by IGI Global, New York. He was the Editor in Chief of a biannual research Journal of Tourism and had also worked with Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management Gwalior as professor from 1995-98 running under the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and Vice Chancellor of Himgiri Zee University, Dehradun from 2012 to 2015.He had also held the position of consultant of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Madrid for a year duration and was one of the members UNWTO team designed the Tourism Master plans of Punjab as well as the Coastal Tourism Development Plan of West Bengal state of India in 2007-08. Dr Bagri was also the team leader of a research project on “Off Beat Tourism Destinations for Ecotourism promotion in Uttarakhand State of India ” sponsored by GTZ Germany. He was given the responsibility to act as a Coordinator of the Cost Effective and Eco - friendly Tourism in the Himalayan States, which was one of the themes of .” A Study of Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) research project undertaken by the consortium of the Central Universities of Indian Himalayan States (IHCUC)Under the supervision of the NITI Aayog, Govt of India in 2020. In this project Prof S.C. Bagri supervised a team of 25 tourism faculty members of 11 central Universities of the Himalayan states.
