Sandra FeinbergSandra Feinberg has over thirty-five years of public library experience and is currently the Director of the Middle Country Public Library, the largest and busiest library on Long Island (NY). From 2000 through 2004, she oversaw two renovation and exansion projects, which increased building capacity from 66,000 to 107,000 square feet, much of which is devoted to children and teens. An advocate for improving the quality of life for families, she firmly believes in the ability of public libraries to be family and community centered institutions. Under her leadership, what began as a local library program for babies, toddlers and parents has become a national model - the Family Place Libraries(TM) initiative, now in over 250 libraries in 24 states. In addition to co-authoring eight books focused on library service to youth and families, Sandra Feinberg is a library school instructor, frequent presenter and consultant. Ms. Feinberg received her MLS from the University of Michigan and a MPS from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She lives in Stony Brook with her husband and has two grown children living in the Southwest. Read More Read Less
