Samia TouatiSamia Touati is a scholar and translator. She is the co-editor of Gathering the Tide: An Anthology of Contemporary Arabian Gulf Poetry (Garnet Publishing and Ithaca Press, 2011). Her past research projects have included Orality, Liteacy and Secondary Orality: Rethinking Freshmen Composition at an American University in 21st Century Qatar, linguistic diversity and the idea of the nation, and the sociolinguistic and semiotic study of speech variety in Morocco.
