Sam WhartonDrawing and creating stories since boyhood, Sam Wharton expanded his writing and artistic range as an English Major and Art Minor at the University of Rhode Island. In graduate school, he taught Freshman English and went on to teach both English and rt at the high school level for another four years. In the 1970s, he worked in construction and was a lead carpenter on the first completely solar-heated house built in Rhode Island. In the 80s and until retirement, he worked in the commercial window industry and created custom fenestration for energy-efficient buildings and landmark structures. In 2010 and as a recovering workaholic, he broadened his horizons to pursue and gain an architectural degree at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. Read More Read Less
