S.D. Read began writing following retirement from school leadership and teaching history. When he’s not stitching words together into stories, he enjoys walking his rescue greyhounds, cycling and, alongwith his wife Carolyn, visiting places that combine historical interest with natural beauty. Consequently, they are frequent visitors to Orkney.
