Ruth was born the youngest of eleven children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She was an educator for two decades—including eleven years as a kindergarten teacher—before she decided to see if she could turn her dream of writing into a career. She’s lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York, and Rhode Island again before moving to Massachusetts, where she now lives with her husband and three children.
