RUFUS KING
Rufus King (1893-1966) was an American author of crime novels, short stories, and plays. His most famous detective character is Lieutenant Valcour. King wrote eleven novels starring Valcour, of which Murder by the Clock i the first. King graduated from Yale University in 1914 and is reputed to have belonged to a "left-leaning" secret society called "Elihu." He also served as a New York river policeman. His works were very popular and sold well.
