Roy Austin

H. Roy Austin, CPA, CMA, MBA, founded Rockwell Business Solutions in 2007 to provide coaching and training services for small businesses. His passion is "getting underneath the numbers" and developing information systems to help management understnd what drives financial performance. His prior positions were as Chief Financial Officer for D. J. Powers Company, Inc., a third party logistics provider; Controller for Savannah Manufacturing, an aseptic drink manufacturer; and 29 years with Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee, in various accounting, sales forecasting, and market research assignments.

Mr. Austin earned a B.A. in Economics from Bethany College and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State. He is founder and Chair Emeritus of Savannah CFO/Controller's Council, which has grown to over 425 financial executives since its inception in 2004. He is also an ambassador for the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce; a member and former chapter Director of Business Networking International (BNI); and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), where he was the 2004 recipient of the "Financial Executive of the Year" award for the Florida Council region. Formerly, he served as Chair of the Volunteer Advisory Board for the Tennessee Department of Corrections, as well as Chair of the Board for the John R. Hay House (a half-way house for convicted felons). In 1998, Hay House named their new building in his honor.
