Roswitha BurwickRoswitha Burwick is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at Scripps College, Claremont, California (1971-2011). She majored in English and German at the University of Wurzburg (1964-1968) and wrote her dissertation on Arnim at the University of Californa, Los Angeles (1972). Her main research focuses on Romanticism, 18th- and 19th-century literature, and 18th-century history of science. She is one of the editors of the Weimar Arnim-Edition with the publication of Naturwissenschaftliche Schriften I and II (2007; 2020) and Vermischte Schriften I-III (in preparation). In addition to Sigismunde Uhtke's Der weibliche Eremitenblick auf das Theater der Welt, her publications include essays on Romanticism with a focus on Achim and Bettina von Arnim and fairy tales.
