Ron TeachworthI grew up in Detroit and studied art in high school and college. I was introduced to photography in college and earn an MA in film at the London Film School where I developed my writing skills while working in educational television and film. I have aught at the college level and recently founded the Detroit Art Review, where we (5 writers) publish visual art reviews weekly. I wrote a novel, The Annunciation, that was a finalist in the 2015 Indy Book Awards and a collection of YA short stories, Beyond, that was recognized in the national competition at Shelf Unbound. I have a new novella, The Mound, for middle school students. In addition, I wrote and directed a feature film for Vestron Pictures: Going Back, starring Bruce Campbell. The two stones parallel the lives of her parents in a remarkable way. I am reminded of Japanese aesthetics when the weathering of objects, like stones, makes them more beautiful for their accumulation of experience. Ana learns that her parents have the experience and the love for her that dissolved their argument.
