Roger FloydRoger Floyd received his PhD in virology from Baylor College of Medicine in 1971, and spent the next forty years working in hospitals and medical schools across the United States. During that time, he worked with many different viruses that cause disase in people, including cancer viruses, viruses in the environment, and AIDS virus. He retired from the study of viruses in 2011, and began a second career as the author of science fiction novels and short stories. He's written three sci-fi novels, of which EXPLORER is the first. He's been published in the "Sage", the newsletter of SouthWest Writers, in several Sage Anthologies, several contest anthologies of SouthWest Writers, in "New Mexico Remembers 9/11", and in "Defuncted" online magazine.
