Roger Casement
Roger Casement (1864-1916) was an Irish nationalist, diplomat, and humanitarian. He is best known for his efforts to expose human rights abuses in the Congo and Peru. Casement's work as a British consul in Africa and South America brought attentio to the atrocities committed against indigenous populations.
