Robert Z HicksRobert Z. Hicks grew up on a farm in central Michigan, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in a business area at Michigan State University, and a Master's degree in Speech/Public Address at the University of Michigan. Robert began his academic caeer as an Instructor at Penn State University for three years, where he met his wife Betty. What they thought would be a one-year honeymoon in Hawaii while he replaced an instructor on leave from the University of Hawaii, turned out to be an exciting 24-year career teaching interpersonal communication and public speaking in the University of Hawaii system. After retiring to Florida in 1989, Robert was inspired to write rhyming stories for children based on his experiences in childhood.
