Robert Schafer
Robert Schafer has a BS in physics from Union College, an MS in physics from Yale University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a PhD in urban planning (with a oncentration in economics) from Harvard University. He was an associate professor of city and regional planning at Harvard University. He was one of the founders of the Harvard Civil RightsCivil Liberties Law Review in 1966 and served as its editor in chief in 196768. He practiced law for more than thirty years. He is the author of Inequality: Piketty's Capital in a Nutshell and The Suburbanization of Multifamily Housing; coauthor of an early quantitative analysis of racial and gender discrimination in mortgage lending, Discrimination in Mortgage Lending; and coauthor of Housing America's Elderly. He is a coeditor of Housing Urban America.
