Robert M. CaliffDr. Califf is Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Research, Director of the Duke Clinical Research Institute, Professor of Medicine and Donald F. Fortin Professor of Cardiology in the Division of Cardiology at Duke University Medical Center, Durha, North Carolina, a Fellow and member of the Board of Trustees of the American College of Cardiology, and one of the world’s leading authorities on acute coronary syndromes. As Director of the Duke Clinical Research Institute, Dr. Califf has been responsible for coordinating more than 100 randomized clinical trials. Dr. Califf has contributed more than 600 peer-reviewed journal articles to the medical literature and is an editor of several major textbooks and journals on heart disease, including theheart.org, an online information resource for academic and practicing cardiologists. He is Director of the coordinating center for the Centers for Education & Research in Therapeutics™ (CERTs), a public-private partnership among the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the FDA, academia, the medical products industry, and consumer groups.
