Wright holds a PhD in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas; he received his MA in Instructional Technology and his BA in Information and Communication Studies from California State University, Chico. His career in technoogy and training has included work as an Instructional Television Producer/Director, Community College Instructor, Media Director, Textbook Production Manager, Online Instructor, and Quality Development Manager. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Learning Technologies Department at the University of North Texas.
