Robert D PehlkeRobert D. Pehlke is Professor Emeritus of Materials Science at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He studied at the University of Michigan (B.S.E. 1955, Metallurgical Engineering), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (S.M. 1958 and Sc.D. 1960 Metallurgy) and at the Technical University, Aachen, Germany as a Fulbright Fellow, 1956-57. He was Visiting Professor at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in 1994. For more than 40 years (1960-2002), he taught at the University of Michigan and served as department chairman from 1973 to 1984. Dr. Pehlke's research career has produced more than 300 publications including 11 books, and he has received numerous awards.
