His primary field is American popular culture, and he has also written biographies, children's books, and Christian apologetics. A former poltical cartoonist, editor of Marvel Comics, and writer for Disney, he has taught at four universities, including the School of Visual Arts and Rutgers. He has spoken overseas on behalf of the US Information Service of the Department of State.
