Richard LambRichard Lamb , Ph.D. is a faculty member in both the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology and the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Georgia, where he holds appointments in the College of Pharmacy and the Colege of Veterinary Medicine. He currently serves as the Director of the Neurocognition Science Laboratory. Dr. Lamb earned his Ph.D. in Science Education and Measurement from the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University in 2013. His interdisciplinary research integrates psychophysiological measurement, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies—including virtual and synthetic environments—to support clinical mental health treatment, assess mental status, and explore socioemotional health across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. A second focus of his work involves identifying cognitive and physiological markers for mental health treatment to enhance the efficacy and efficiency related to information processing, decision-making, and cognition in high-stress environments. His work also seeks to leverage advanced technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, aiming to shape the biopsychosocial dimensions of learning and mental health, promoting wellbeing across the lifespan.
