Richard Cramm

Richard CrammRichard Cramm (1889 1958) was a lawyer and politician in Newfoundland. Born in Small Point, he was educated at the Tilton Seminary in New Hampshire and at the Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Cramm studied law and was called to the Newfoundland br in 1924. He was elected to the Newfoundland assembly in 1923 and became acting Attorney General in 1926. After his defeat in 1928 Cramm returned to practising law in St. John's. He returned to politics in 1932, serving as a minister without portfolio in the short-lived cabinet of Richard Squires. In 1949, he ran unsuccessfully as a Progressive Conservative candidate in the Canadian federal riding of TrinityConception. Cramm published The First Five Hundred in 1921. Read More Read Less
