R. S. Grant also writes as Rachel Grant, the USA Today bestselling author of the Flashpoint series, the Evidence novels, and Dangerous Ground and Crash Site in the Fiona Carver series. She worked for more than a decade as a prfessional archaeologist and mines her experiences for story lines and settings as diverse as excavating a cemetery underneath a historic art museum in San Francisco, surveying an economically depressed coal mining town in Kentucky, and mapping a seventeenth-century Spanish and Dutch fort on the island of Sint Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles.
