R S SengarDr. R.S. Sengar is working as an Associate Professor officer Incharge of Biotechnology in Deptartment of Agriculture Biotechnology, College of Agriculture in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. Dr. Sengar has 18years teaching, research and extension experience to his credit. He was associated with teaching for a period of about 10 years at G.B. Pant University of Agri. and Tech. Pantnagar (Uttrakhand). He has supervised 4 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and published more than 45 research papers in India and Foreign Journals of repute. Dr. Sengar contributed 105 abstracts/papers to different conferences/symposiums/workshop organized at National and International forums. He has published 810 popular articles in Hindi and English languages in important journals and magazines. He has also published 6 books for scientific community and farmers. Dr. Sengar has delivered more than 45 talks at All India. Radio and Television at Delhi, Lucknow, Rampur and Bareilly centers. Dr. Sengar is life member of many professional societies. He is a member of the editorial advisory boards and review committees of few journals. He has been the Principal and Co-Investigator of various projects financed by different government departments. He has made several contributions on in vitro culture of sugarcane. Crop improvement through somaclonal variation and micropropagation of newly released varieties of sugarcane for rapid seed multiplication, are the fields of his main interest. Dr. Sengar has been the recipient of the 'Best Writer' award from Vishwa Agro Marketing and Communication Kota Rajasthan, 'Kunwar Saxena Bahadur SRDA' award from society for Recent Development in Agriculture Meerut, 'Man of the Year' 'Research Board of Advisors' awards from American Biographical Institute, Inc. U.S.A., 'Aryabhat' award from Vigyan Bharti, New Delhi, Fellow of Society of Plant Research Bareilly, (U.P.), Gold Medal HTHS award from Hi-Tech Horticultural society Meerut and J.C. Edward Medal from BIOVED as Research Society Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He participated at International Conferences/Workshop/Seminars as delegate organizer and resource person.
