R S ChauhanProf. R.S. Chauhan is currently Professor and Head in the Department of Veterinary Pathology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology Pantnagar. Earlier he held the positions of Director Institute of iotechnology, Patwadangar Nainital, Director Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Joint Director (CADRAD), Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly (UP). He has worked as National Fellow, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor in CCS HAU, Hisar and GB Pant University, Pantnagar. He has more than 1000 publications to his credit that have appeared in various national and international journals of repute. He has authored 95 books including textbooks on Veterinary Pathology, Laboratory Diagnosis, Glossary, Manuals and Monographs. He was awarded with various national awards including Young Scientist Award, IAAVR Award, Shri Ram Lal Agrawal National Award, Dr. K.S. Nair Memorial Award, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Award of ICAR, Best Teacher Award of GB Pant University, etc. He has been widely travelled and attended several international conferences and visited Kenya, UAE, Egypt, France, UK, The Netherlands, Canada, and Germany. He is Fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, Society for Immunology and Immunopathology and Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists . He is also heading "Society for Immunology and Immunopathology" as Secretary-General. He had been the President of The Cow Therapy Society, Vice-President and President of the Indian Association of Veterinary Educators. He had been in executive committee member of IAAVR, Joint Secretary, Indian Virology Society and Zonal Secretary, Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists. He was Managing-Editor of the Journal of Immunology and Immunopathology, Editor in Chief of the International Journal on Cow Science and Editor of The Indian Cow. He had been Task Force member of WHO on EHC and was also nominated as Temporary Advisor, WHO/ IPCS. He had also worked as Editor and Editor-in-Chief, Indian Journal of Veterinary Pathology for few years. He as Chairman organized Silver Jubilee Annual Conference of Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP) and International Symposium on "Quality Assurance in Pathology and Disease Diagnosis" and Satellite Seminar on "Descriptive Gross and Microscopic Veterinary Pathology in Necropsy, Biopsy and Certification Examination during November 10-12, 2008 at IVRI, Izatnagar (UP). He was instrumental in establishment of Indian College of Veterinary Pathology (ICVP) in which Ist batch of 22 certified Chartered member and Diplomat ICVP passed out including Dr RS Chauhan. He scientifically validated Panchgavya principles of Ayurveda and named as Cow pithy which is now known globally.
