Pip DunnPip Dunn was born in 1969 and started his interest in railways in 1981. In 1984 he joined, and started writing for, the C lass 20 Locomotive Society. Having graduated from the University of Huddersfield - where he reported on the town's football team - in Transport & Logistics in 1995, he became a writer on RAIL magazine in 1996. In 2006 he took over the editorship of Railways Illustrated, until May 2015. After an 18 month spell as Editor at Truck & Driver magazine in 2017 he returned as a freelance writer and editor on many truck and railway magazines, as well as writing a number of books. In 2025 he returned to the editor's chair at Railways Illustrated and still continues to write and publish books and editorial copy for a variety of customers in the rail and road sectors. He now lives in Spalding, Lincolnshire, with his wife Victoria, daughter Harriet and two dogs, Cookie and Barton, and away from transport his passions are Huddersfield Town football club, punk music, photography and travelling, especially to Scotland, Cornwall and Germany.
