Philip EffiongPhilip Uko Effiong is the son of Major General Philip Efiong, second in command to the Biafran head of state, Odumegwu Ojukwu, and principle negotiator in the eventual peace proceedings. Philip has taught at tertiary level for over twenty years and hlds a PhD in drama from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in the United States. He received his Master's in African Diaspora Literature and a Bachelor's degree in English, both from the University of Calabar in Nigeria. Prior to joining Michigan State University, in the spring of 2017, Philip taught drama, fiction, nonfiction, the oral tradition and writing at various Nigerian, Ghanaian and American universities.
