Peter worked as a journalist and radio producer for over twenty-five years, includig fourteen years at Radio 4 on the Today Programme as well as The World Tonight and Newshour on the BBC World Service. His field work has taken him around the world, from Russia to Hong Kong, Lebanon, Liberia and South Africa.
