He has been lead teacher for Drama, and Citizenship, and devised a blended curriclum for Year7. In 2015 he completed an MA (Education) with a focus on dramatic technique – ‘Mantle of the expert’
His work with teachers includes speaking at international conferences, workshop and keynote for ITT / NQT for Wakefield and Barnsley providers, and as a tutor with Drama and English PGCE students at University of Huddersfield.
Paul is pleased to be in residence at Castleford Park Junior Academy working with teachers to develop a story based curriculum through a programme of evolving CPD.
He works in the creative arts as a practitioner for Leeds Playhouse and Grimm & Co. in Rotherham.
Paul sits on the board of directors of Long Division Festival, Wakefield, and is Education Development Manager for their work with young people. #YoungTeam 2019, their pilot programme was a triumph, and in 2020-21 the education offer is expanding.
He writes articles for TES, Drama and Theatre Magazine, Hopscotch Education, and Independent Thinking Press; and is pleased now to be working alongside Bloomsbury Press as well.
Paul writes poetry and plays and wrote his first full length play, commissioned by Creative Wakefield for Wakefield Wordfest 2020.
His work with teachers and students, adults and young people, and his creative output – focuses on creative and kindness, with candid honesty.
Through innovative and imaginative projects inside and outside the classroom; Paul’s mission is to provide meaningful cultural experiences for all people regardless of situation.
Above all he is a do-er and a dreamer.
