He has over 28 years of experience as an applied academic and public sector anager focusing on emergency and operational risk management and policy development focused on disaster risk reduction and resilience building in institutions and communities impacted by natural and socio-technical threats. He serves as a visiting Professorial Fellow attached to the Torrens Resilience Initiative at Flinders University, Adelaide and was formerly a senior fellow at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute Canberra, where he established and led the institute's Risk and Resilience Program.
