Patrick J KennedyPatrick J. Kennedy is the youngest child of Senator Edward (Ted) Kennedy and Joan Kennedy. When he was fifteen, Patrick was put on medication for what eventually would be diagnosed as bipolar disorder. He attended Providence College, and became the yungest member of his family to hold elective office when he joined the Rhode Island House of Representatives at age 21. It was the first of eleven consecutive election victories. In 1994 he won election to the U.S. House of Representatives, from Rhode Island's first district, a seat he held for eight terms.
