Patrick Grant, D.Phil., FRSC, is Professor Emeritus, Department of English, University of Victoria, Canada. He was educated at Queen’s University, Belfast and the University of Sussex. He is the author f 21 books, and in 1990 was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
