Padma SethPadma Seth is a post graduate and an L.L.B. from the Banaras Hindu University and an Advanced Diploma holder in Public Administration from the University of Manchester U.K. She is a social worker, a legal researcher, practiced law and was Hony Magistate first class. She was Director of the National Balbhavan from 1978-1990, and member of the National Commission for Women from 1992-98. She was a senior consultant to Unicef Head Quarters at Delhi from 1998-2002. She drafted many legal; bills and even gave evidence to the Standing Committees of Parliament. As member NCW, she initiated the Domestic violence bill and assisted the Courts on issues of women and children. The concept of CODIFICATION OF CRIMINAL LAWS FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN drew wide attention. She was NGO delegate to the UN Status of Womens Commission and Official delegate to SAARC on child protection 2000 and 1996 respectively.
