Paco Ignacio Taibo II. Incansable activista social, historiador y autor de las biografías de Pancho Villa, Tony Guiteras y de la más leída sobre el Che, así como de más de 70 obras en distintos géneros literarios publicada en 28 países. Algunas de sus obras han sido mencionadas entre los «libros del año» por The New York Times, Le Monde y Los Angeles Times. Ha merecido tres veces el Premio Internacional Dashiell Hammett a la mejor novela policiaca, el premio francés 813 a la mejor novela negra extranjera publicada en Francia, el premio Bancarella en Italia al libro del año y el Premio Nacional de Historia Francisco Javier Clavijero del INAH. Su trilogía Patria se ha convertido en un fenómeno editorial. Es el creador de la nueva novela negra en español con la serie protagonizada por Héctor Belascoarán.
