Ottobah Cugoano
Ottobah Cugoano was a prominent African abolitionist and author in the 18th century. Born in present-day Ghana, he was kidnapped and enslaved at a young age, later gaining his freedom. Cugoano became a vocal advocate for the abolition of slavery, sing his own experiences to highlight the atrocities of the slave trade.
