Ottobah Cugoano

Ottobah Cugoano was a prominent African abolitionist and author in the 18th century. Born in present-day Ghana, he was kidnapped and enslaved at a young age, later gaining his freedom. Cugoano became a vocal advocate for the abolition of slavery, sing his own experiences to highlight the atrocities of the slave trade. His writings challenged the moral conscience of society, calling for justice and equality for all individuals.
