Most of his career has been dedicated to the study of cardiac arres, shock and molecular diagnostics, both in university settings and in startup companies. He edits the standard medical textbook in resuscitation medicine. In the past, he has been a professor at the University of Colorado, Virginia Commonwealth University, Columbia University and NYU.
