Norma SamuelsonSince the first time Norma grabbed a crayon, art has been part of her identity. At the age of 12, she started her classical training as an artist, at the Martin A. Malharro Superior School of Visual Arts, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Norma dreamed ofmoving to the US since she was little. Her dream became a reality when she moved to California at 22 years old. At the age 26 she started her own business as an Architectural Illustrator, and went on to work for some of the largest firms in the country. Currently, she has turned her talents to author and illustrate children's books. For the last 11+ years, she has also been teaching art at an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. Through the free expression of art, the healing process begins, helping kids overcome their difficult circumstances.In cooperation with psychologist Niels Peter Rygaard, and the training program by Fairstart Foundation, Norma has trained the staff at "Casa de la Esperanza" in Tijuana, Mexico, in quality care practices for children and youth growing up without parents.She is also collaborating with Jane Snaith, CEO of Igale Lapsele Pere (Family For Each Child) in Estonia.
