Norma PetersonBorn in Bangor, Pennsylvania, in 1932, Norma Peterson moved to Philadelphia in the 1950s where she landed her first writing job, composing captions for the Saturday Evening Post. She became a freelance writer for magazines such as Redbook>, McCalls, Ladies' Home Journal, Parade, and Reader's Digest. She co-authored two humor books: The Unofficial Mother's Handbook and The Unofficial Cat Lover's Handbook. She died in 1997.
