Nigel W JohnsonA native of the South-East England town of Tilbury, Nigel W. Johnson moved to Canada with his parents after being flooded out of their home. Spending half of his secondary education at a traditional English grammar school, and the other half in a Scince and Technology high school in Toronto was a good start to what would become a successful career in computer engineering, management and subsequent teaching. Nigel currently teaches at a college in Brampton, Ontario. A pilot and maker-mender himself, he never misses an opportunity to infect young people with his enthusiasm for such rewarding ways of life. Previously published in specialist technical journals, Nigel has now written The Flight of the Seawind, his first full-length novel. He hopes that this book will turn teens on to the enjoyment that technology and flying can bring. He particularly wants to encourage girls to pursue rewarding careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). In Sophie, you will see a modern girl who knows that she can be anything she wants and is prepared to work hard to earn her rightful place as a leader in society. Read More Read Less
