Neil Floryl Flory became a children's writer when his son asked him for a bedtime story. His first picture book The Short Giraffe was nominated for Book of the Year at the Children's Book Council of Australia Awards. He has published two picture boos with Hachette India – Cactus Wants a Hug (illustrated by Simon Yeo) and Marvellously Mixed Up (illustrated by Maitri Bimbrahw-Marks).

He now lives in Goa, where he divides his time between writing kids' stories, adult novels, comics and screenplays; and making music, art and pottery. By buying his books, you are supporting him greatly in his fight against those who wish he'd get a real job.
