Ned MackeyNed Mackey grew up in Bend, Oregon and started his college career at the University of Oregon. He graduated from the University of Arizona with Master's degree in Education and indecision after several changes of his major. He tried advertising, jouralism, and psychology before opting for teaching when family pressure (a wife and children) helped him make up his mind. He taught English in high schools in Tucson for thirty-six years, coaching cross country and track and field for twenty of them.
