Miriam Bat-AmiDr. Miriam Bat-Ami, Western Michigan University professor emeritus, has lived in Mattawan for the last 23 years-where she and her husband raised two children, dogs, cats, chickens and an assortment of small furry creatures. She has four published books and has written creative nonfiction, fiction and poetry. When she is not writing or gardening, she acts in local theaters and loves making people laugh.
